2018 Honda Cvic Type R, How to kil your mother-in-law

If you are a car guy and happen to be married , at some point of your marriage your beloved wifey will try systematically ,every possible way to get rid of your precious EVO , WRX or CIVIC that you have spent most of your last ten years working on upgrading it and cruising with your boys in it .
She will go even further by telling that getting rid of it is inevitable because it is a piece of junk and that "we should get a reasonable Volvo" so she can drive the kids to school , have road trips and occasionally, drive her mother too .

The only thing you can do at this point is to tell her that you have the best solution for everyone and drive to the closest Honda dealership and get yourself their latest alluring Civic Type R .
It is finally here gentlemen and it looks absolutely mind-blowing . By looking at it you will instantly know that Honda thought this car through , it is lower , wider and comes with four doors and a one big trunk. It is the replacement of the fk2 and has a bigger appetite for air with a new intercooler and bigger core size ,

Honda claims that their Civic is the only car in its segment that produces genuine downforce unlike other cars from its segment like the Golf R and Focus RS that only limit the lift  . By looking at the giant wing at the back ,the fins sticking out of the roof , the extreme lines on the sides and the lower sections of the car you start think that this downforce thing is true .
8.5 by 20 inches aluminum cast front and rear wheels consolidates its sportiness but there is a big disappointment when it comes to the exhausts tune , you might think "well there are three of them at the back so it might sounds like Zeus" but it is not .

But the exhausts note is no problem when you know that the type R made history at the Nuremburg ring by listing the fastest time of a Front Wheel Drive car with 7min 43.8s beating the Golf GTI Clubsport S which scored a sluggish 7min 49.2 . Honda has a dual axis strut front suspension (scroll to the end to know how it works ) this system reduces torque steering and gives the car a better grip at  corners and help you get out of it  as fast as possible with an immense acceleration that can give your mother in law a heart attack and if you got lucky, ends her life.

The Type R's new heart is an inline 4 aluminum DHOC 16 valves ,two liter turbocharged with direct injection  engine without the usual VTEC system but it  still has variable valve timing and lift to generate up to 306 hp at 6500 rpm and 300 lb-ft of torque starting from 2500 to 4500 rpm and can generate more revolutions than that , 7500 rpm to be exact . that is more torque than you get in other competitors . The Type R drives in three different modes , comfort , sport and R+ mode that works its way through all things to give you vigorous acceleration and better responsiveness of everything .

At the inside , the Type R is as practical as a Toyota Camry and that didn't affect its looks on the sporty departement because the black and the crimson red combination is eye-catching . The 6 speed manual gear lever is as classic as it could be from Honda . Although the quality of the materials used on the dashboard and the steering wheel are not better than you get in the VW but the interior looks much better than the one you get in the Focus RS . There isn't a big space between the braking and accelerating paddles so you can heal and toe it all day .
The infotainment and gage cluster displays are smooth . When you change through different driving modes you have all shades of red to get the ultimate racing experience with the whole package of exhileration from the legacy behind this model from Honda .

A dual axis strut front suspension – similar to that used in other vehicles – improves high speed stability, cornering and steering feel. The mechanical system features two supporting kingpins, so instead of an integrated knuckle-and-strut set-up of a conventional strut system, the knuckle and strut are separated, so that the knuckle receives steering input and the strut receives information from the road surface. An independent knuckle translates into a smaller centre offset, thanks to a reduced kingpin inclination, which helps reduce torque steer by 55% compared to the standard Civic’s suspension system according to Honda. An added enhancement to the minimisation of torque steer are drive shafts which are precisely balanced for rigidity and a revised wheel offset. (source :http://ae-plus.com)
