Ferrari 488 GTB N Largo , Better than Manzoni's

When your name is Ferrari ,your color is red and been present in the automotive industry since 1947, everyone will be interested in your next move  and how you might look in fornt  of your rivals . 
With a legacy enriched with exotic and alluring cars , except the Ferrari Dino , you are compelled to provide the best of you . 

In the recent years , Ferrari never ceased on introducing the most appreciated models like the Ferrari 458 , F12 , F12 TDF , LaFerrari and recently the 488 GTB and the 812 superfast ( there will be a dedicated blog for the latter soon ) . But I am interested at the moment in the 488 GTB .

There is no doubt that Flavio Manzoni , Ferrari's head designers did an appreciated work of art on the latest models . But if you have a company called Novitec Rosso and you are based in Germany you would probably think that the 488 GTB is not good enough for customers , so instead of sending some notes to Mr Manzoni at Maranello you allow yourself to  add some tweaks to make the car more desirable and compatible for your perspective on how a supercar needs to look like .


The Geman based company , started working on Italian exotic cars since 1989 with Wolfgang Hagedorn and became one of the most respected firms in the buisiness . Novitec are now developing models from  Lamborghuini , Maserati , Rolls Royce and Mclaren . The signature of  Novitec can be spotted on the front and back bumpers and on the sides . The car is 35 millimeters lower and has wider shoulders , in addition the car is fitted with P1 tyres from Pirelli for better grip 20 inches for the front wheels and 21 at the back .


Since the iconic F40 , Ferrari were cautious about using turbocharged engines . But now they decided to mount the 488 GTB with a twin-turbocharged intercooled DOHC new V8 that produces 661 hp and 561 lb-ft of torque . The car is more powerful than its older sister the 458 Italia but the thirst for power from Ferrari ruined the iconic naturally aspirated exhuast note of a a classic Ferrari , like the one you get from the 458 . 

Novitec thought that 600 hp is not enough for a Ferrari so they fitted the car with the N-Tronic plug to convince the engine that is capable of more than that . The results are impressive because the car can now produce up to 756 hp !! 


Before I end this blog , I want to point out that the 488 GTB is a let down for the black horse fans in terms of design . The 488 had borrowed things from the 458 speciale and LaFerrari , when I heard this I was expecting a bespoken design from a company that produced marvelous bedroom wall posters for decades . This one however , looks like an old 458 that had a plastic surgery and went horribly wrong . 

Novitec said that only 11 versions of the their 488 will be ever produced , but I genuinely wished that maybe can produce more because their added tweaks can actually save the 488 from being the second bad looking Ferrari in addition to the Dino .

Toyota Century MK3, Back to the V8

The Toyota Century , a name that was exclusively meant for Japan. The reason behind the birth of this model was the 100th birthday of Toyata's founder sakichi Toyoda.
