Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid , The One That Everyone Been Looking For


It is official !! Dear internal combustion fans , the automotive industry is taking electric and plug-in Hybrid as the future . That is right , no longer V12 , V10 and V8s will be made and that was confirmed by Ferrari through their Turbo charged V8 488 GTB , Ford with their EcoBoost engines and the Titan of the industry Porsche with their Turbo charged V6s . Although there are some brands that are still attached to the perception of having a V12 or V10 rambling at the back like Lamborghini,the efforts made to save these configuration are fading due to regulations and the rise of a new force of hybrid performance setups.

If you are familiar with  Hollywood made movies , the word Hybrid means something more powerful than both sides , a mix between a Lycan and a Vampire gives a creature more capable than both , for cars Hybrid meant for years a Toyota Prius but it is no longer the case because Porsche are now offering a Plug-in Hybrid Panamera .


We were all shocked , well most of us , by the looks of the first generation of Panamera because it looked like a 911 that suffered from a genetic mutation and have grown a curved monstrous backend.
The car is more elegant now , the lines gives it the sporty looks that was missing and goes in hand with the brand's legacy . The narrow brake lights and the hidden spoiler were the vital touches that has put emphasis on the new looks . It is not just a face-lift from the previous model , Porsche claims it is a totally new and improved Panamera . 


Porsche came to recognize the fact that the first generation needed some adjustments so it would conciliate the growing demand on great and modern design . The changes go beyond the skin , the skeleton is brand new , the new platform of the Porsche makes it nimble and "it will be used in other models from Bently" Porsche stated . The Panamera is available in 4E-Plug hybrid , Turbo and S models but the 4 E is cheaper because of tax incentives from governments , the model ranges from 90k dollars up to 114k and it is worth it .


The  4 E has a complicated synergy between electric and petrol engines , they are both linked to a newely developed PDK 8 speed dual clutch transmission and that means that you still get a multy gear transmission even in electric mode ,sort of . The Panamera 4E has 330 hp V6 engine from Audi jointly working with a 136 hp electric motor to produce a maximum 462 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque .
It is not quick but the instant torque you get from the electric engine will compensate the need for bigger and more expensive Turbo model . The car can be driven in four Modes , E for fully Electric , Petrol , H for Hybrid and sport for a maximum performance .

The set back of this 4 E is the same as every other electric car , range . It is the Kryptonite for these beasts ( except Tesla) because the 4 E offers a Maximum of 50 km range from a 5 hours charge . In the past few days , a bunch of Italians took a Tesla Model S and  drove it for a 1000 km on a single charge and that is due to the 7000 batteries mounted in the spine of the 100D , but Tesla is a full electric car that is plenty of room for bigger and more efficient batteries . It is worth to mention that the new Panamera has an adaptive suspension to control the driving style with sport and sport+ .  


No one can argue that Porsche is the best brand when it comes to interior , when Porsche gives new feature of their design , everyone follow suit . The car is wrapped up in leather and loaded with the latest invention and the best sound system from the same company that equiped the Veyron . 
12 inches touch infotainment system with two 10 inches at the back . Without going through more details because they are available everywhere , the interior is a great place to be in a Porsche .
