Porsche 911 Carrera T, Becasue an R Is Not Enough

A while ago , Porsche introduced to the world a classic Porsche with a modern wrap and they give it the honor of keep the letter R on it . The ritual continued with the "new" Porsche T , a commemoration to the model from the 60s , the 1965 to be specfic . Porsche fans and car enthusiats alike embraced the idea of resurrecting old names from the golden era of the two seater sports car and making these model more exclusive and harder to get than others , has played a broad role in shifting the concept behind the making of these models along with newly released models like the GT3 RS and GT2 . 


The 1965 model had a flat six single overhead camshaft engine that produced 110 hp at 5800 rpm and 116 lb-ft of torque at 4200 rpm . It was propelled by the rear wheels and provided good amount of fun at that time because its top was over 120 mph . The 65 Carrera T had two transmission option , 4 or 5 speed manual gearbox and that can explain the" whooping top speed ". The production of the T model coupe lasted for almost 8 years and a half but then they ceased to emerge in mid 1973 .


Back to the new Carrera T , it looks pretty much the same as the R , Porsche fans would say of course that is longer , wider and lower or anything they find it unfamiliar but let"s face it , it is the same . Like the old one it is rear wheel drive and has manual transmission .
Porsche says that the letter T stands for Touring and that it will have a price tag of over 85k £ 


The new porsche has the same turbo flat six that produces 365 hp that will accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds and this car is from the sexities you won't get anything techy , that is why the car is 20 kg lighter than the standard 911 and that helps to gulp 8.5 l/100 km and that would prevent you from stopping every five minutes at petrol stations when touring with your Porsche .


Like the R , you will not get anything except a gear lever and a steering wheel , charging more for less is something that Porsche became known by over the years , but giving a car the Touring aspect without anything in the base model is a bit of a gag , sure you can get sat nav and infotainment system as options but these should have been standard features .

The only thing that we would hope for is a genuinely "new" Porsche in terms of design and powertrain because bringing models from past can only work once .
