Toyota Century MK3, Back to the V8

The Toyota Century , a name that was exclusively meant for Japan. The reason behind the birth of this model was the 100th birthday of Toyata's founder sakichi Toyoda. The Century was meant for Japanese businessmen only because the luxury of Toyota can only be sensed through Lexus globally
The first introduction of the Cnetury MK1 was in 1967 and it was only available with a V8 option under the bonet and the model haven't wittnessed any changes for the next 30 years until  the biggest step made in the Japanese automotive history in 1997 . The century MK2 was monuted with a V12 the first and last to date engine with that configuration. We have never seen Toyota daring to make the V12 again even with this new model which a big disappointement.

A downer indeed , the new Century has another V8 , but before we get to that , we need to say a few words about the design. The car is being promoted as ever as a luxurious limousine , quite like the Mercedes S class  , the Audi A8 and the BMW 7 series . While the german rivals have shifted their looks to cope with the 21st century , the car is still looks the same as the MK2 except the silly side view mirrors of the last model that gives the MK3 a more dignified looks .
It looks classy though as this design is immortal , maybe that is the reason why Japanese consumers are convinced with it , or it could be the emblem of the car which has a great significance regarding the imperial house of Japan and the Yamato Dynasty.

Anyway , the car is equipped with a V8 , maybe that's another reason to own it , a 5.0 liter engine with Toyota's technological advancement in the Hybrid segment to provide the best performance that could match the rivals output .

The interior is equipped with luxurious gizmos , from infotainment , multifuctions steering wheel and well catalogued centre console to massaging and heated seats Oh ! and let us not forget to mention the pervasive wood all over the cabin .

Of course if you are a Japanese businessman you are likely buying this car to be chauffered in it by this car so Toyota made a spectacular rear cabin for your pleasure . The fully whool wrapped interior looks like a genuine living room from the 1990's and with extra tables the car is likely a good place to live in . The centre console at the back is so big you grow your Money Tree Bonsai in it . Still you can get a leather alternative but who would prefer leather over whool ?

The century looks as if it was designed by an Anime artist but it looks somehow attractive and very Japanese , that is why the car is being marketed only in Japan to become a part of their national heritage .
